UPAMC Launches 00403A Active ETF Targeting Taiwan AI and Semiconductor Supply Chains
Uni-President Asset Management launched the 00403A Taiwan Upgrade 50 Active ETF, targeting Taiwan-listed AI and semiconductor supply-chain companies such as TSMC and Asia Vital Components. The fund uses a two-tier “core and enhancement” stock-selection strategy, with its manager actively adjusting holdings in pursuit of returns above the broader market while maintaining a foundation of large-cap stocks.
00403A began fundraising in April 2026, attracting NT$80 billion, and listed on May 12 amid a boom in active ETFs fueled by Taiwan stocks reaching record highs. Its premium climbed as high as 5% after listing, prompting the Financial Supervisory Commission to call for stronger market-making to help the market price converge more efficiently with the fund’s net asset value.
