Robinhood Launches AI Agent Trading and Dedicated Virtual Credit Card
Robinhood, which built its business serving retail investors, now has about 27 million funded accounts. The company is moving generative AI beyond research assistance into “agentic finance,” allowing it to deploy funds directly. The AI connects to brokerage and banking services through the Model Context Protocol, making account segregation, spending limits and real-time oversight central to risk management.
On May 27, 2026, Robinhood launched the beta version of Agentic Trading and the Agentic Credit Card. Agentic Trading currently supports stocks only, and the AI can use only prefunded money held in a dedicated account. Options, cryptocurrencies, event contracts and futures will be added gradually. The card is linked to the Robinhood Gold Card and lets users set a monthly spending limit, require manual approval for each transaction or freeze the card at any time.
