Crypto Data Firm Dune Cuts 25% of Staff in Full Pivot to AI and Institutional Services
Dune is an on-chain analytics platform that allows users to query and visualize blockchain data, serving researchers, protocols and investment firms. The company raised $69.42 million in a Series B funding round in February 2022 at a $1 billion valuation. As traditional financial institutions accelerate their adoption of crypto assets, institutional-grade data and AI analytics have become central to competition in the sector.
Co-founder and CEO Fredrik Haga said on May 14, 2026, that Dune was cutting 25% of its workforce that week, without disclosing the number of employees affected or the amount of severance. He said the restructuring would focus on Dune’s core data products while committing fully to AI tools, its data layer and services for financial institutions. The company will operate with a leaner team to meet demand for on-chain finance.
