Uniswap Launches Permissioned Pools for Tokenized Assets
Asset managers including BlackRock, Apollo, Franklin Templeton and VanEck have launched tokenized funds as traditional finance moves securities onto blockchains. The shift is pushing decentralized-finance platforms to add compliance controls without abandoning automated, onchain trading. Citi has estimated that tokenized securities could become a $5.5 trillion market by 2030, making investor verification and secondary-market liquidity increasingly important infrastructure.
Uniswap Labs rolled out Permissioned Pools on July 23, 2026, with launch partners Superstate, Securitize and European digital-securities platform Dowgo. Built on Uniswap v4, the framework checks whether a wallet is approved by an issuer before allowing swaps or liquidity deposits, while retaining the protocol’s automated market maker. The launch follows BlackRock’s Securitize-issued BUIDL money-market fund becoming tradable on Uniswap in February 2026.
