Synctera Acquires Compliance Startup Cable
Synctera, founded in 2020, is an embedded-finance and banking-as-a-service platform that helps fintech companies connect with banking, payments and compliance capabilities. As regulators require sponsor banks to maintain ongoing oversight of their partners, traditional sample-based audits are no longer sufficient to demonstrate that KYC, AML and transaction-monitoring controls are working effectively. Automated control testing has therefore become increasingly important.
Synctera announced its acquisition of Cable on April 14, 2026, saying the transaction had closed in March. Financial terms and other conditions were not disclosed. Cable's team will join Synctera, while its product will remain available separately and continue testing KYC, AML and transaction-monitoring controls. Its clients include Midland States Bank, Grasshopper and Mercury.
