xAI’s Grok Bot Adds Stripe Link for Agentic Shopping

Agentic commerce is emerging as a new battleground for artificial intelligence companies seeking to turn chatbots from recommendation tools into transaction-capable assistants. By connecting Grok Bot to Stripe’s Link wallet and established merchant payment infrastructure, xAI is moving its service closer to acting on a user’s behalf, while putting payment authorization, credential security and accountability at the center of AI-assisted shopping.

xAI said Grok Bot can now search for products and make purchases from online merchants through Stripe Link, with the feature initially available to users in the United States. Each transaction requires explicit human approval before the bot receives a single-use virtual card to complete checkout. The design limits the bot’s access to reusable payment credentials and adds a user-controlled checkpoint before money is spent.
