US Crypto Adoption Rebounds as Bitcoin Retains Dominance
Deutsche Bank has tracked US retail participation in cryptocurrencies since 2023. Adoption had declined steadily after July 2025, reflecting inflationary pressure from high interest rates and energy prices. The indicator has now returned to mid-2025 levels, with Bitcoin still in the top spot, showing that the market recovery remains led by the largest crypto asset.
A Deutsche Bank report dated April 20, 2026, showed that US retail adoption rose to 12% in March from 7% in February, while Bitcoin ETFs recorded about $1.3 billion in net inflows over the same period. Strategy disclosed the same day that it spent $2.54 billion to buy 34,164 Bitcoin between April 13 and 19, lifting its holdings to 815,061 Bitcoin at a total cost of $61.56 billion.
