Taiwan’s FISC to Pause Interbank ATM Services for 50 Minutes
Financial Information Service Co. (FISC) operates the network connecting Taiwan’s financial institutions for interbank transactions, including ATM withdrawals and transfers. The planned maintenance and cloud backup drill are intended to test whether critical services can be sustained or restored when primary systems are disrupted, a key measure of the stability and operational resilience of the island’s payment infrastructure.
FISC will conduct financial information system maintenance and a cloud disaster-recovery exercise starting at 2 a.m. local time on March 28. Interbank ATM services are expected to be unavailable for 50 minutes. Institutions participating directly in the drill may experience additional disruptions, while own-bank ATM services at other financial institutions are generally expected to remain available during the exercise.
