Bitcoin Tests $75,000 as NVIDIA GTC Fuels Surge in AI Tokens
Bitcoin has recently returned to elevated levels, driven primarily by continued inflows into U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs and large-scale buying by MicroStrategy. The $75,000 level is both a psychological threshold and a key test of confidence in risk assets and the strength of institutional demand. NVIDIA’s GTC conference has also fueled enthusiasm for AI-related assets.
Bitcoin climbed as high as $74,899 this morning, approaching $75,000, while major crypto assets posted double-digit gains for the week and total market capitalization recovered to $2.56 trillion. After NVIDIA unveiled technologies including DLSS 5 and NemoClaw at GTC, FET surged as much as 20%, while NEAR and Worldcoin rose to their highest levels in recent months. Markets are also awaiting the U.S. Federal Reserve’s latest interest-rate decision.

The history behind this eventCrypto Majors Trade Sideways as AI Tokens Lead Altcoin Rotation
Bitcoin and Ether traded in narrow ranges for a fourth consecutive day, signaling a lack of clear direction among major cryptocurrencies and prompting short-term capital to rotate into AI and exchange tokens. The gains did not spread across the broader market: privacy coins gave back ground, while Deribit options trading remained dominated by volatility selling. The moves pointed to concentrated thematic bets and position adjustments rather than a broad revival in risk appetite.
On May 22, 2026, Bitcoin remained confined to a range of $76,100 to $78,000. NEAR gained 28.5% in one day, while FET rose 11.4%. HYPE had climbed about 60% since May 19 and reached a record high. Products from 21Shares and Bitwise were listed on May 12 and May 15, respectively, and had attracted combined net inflows of about $47.8 million as of May 21. Marketwide liquidations over 24 hours fell 26% to $200 million.
Bitcoin and Major Tokens Weaken as Nvidia Earnings Lift AI-Linked Assets
Bitcoin has recently decoupled from U.S. equities, fueling concerns that each rebound is peaking at a lower level. As Bitcoin fell below $67,000, major tokens including Ether and Solana also came under selling pressure. By contrast, Nvidia’s earnings strengthened the outlook for artificial-intelligence investment, prompting funds to rotate into AI-linked tokens such as Internet Computer and Bittensor.
In the latest trading, Bitcoin lost the $67,000 level while Ether and Solana also declined. Decred surged against the broader trend after changes to its treasury-spending rules. Following Nvidia’s better-than-expected quarterly results and strong outlook, Internet Computer, Bittensor and shares of Bitcoin miners with AI data-center exposure advanced, highlighting the rotation in capital.
