AI Server Boom Lifts Taiwan Firms’ China Earnings to Record
Taiwan-listed companies’ earnings from investments in China continued to climb despite supply-chain diversification and heightened geopolitical risks. CRIF said demand for AI chips and server upgrades boosted profits across electronics manufacturing, components and advanced materials. The results underline China’s continuing importance as a production base for Taiwanese suppliers serving the global buildout of AI infrastructure.
China investment earnings reported by Taiwan-listed companies reached NT$289.948 billion in the first half of 2026, up 11.12% from a year earlier and the highest on record for the period, according to CRIF. Hon Hai Precision Industry retained the top earnings spot, while Taiwan Union Technology Corp. jumped to second place after its earnings doubled, benefiting from stronger demand for materials used in high-end AI servers.
