Quantum Solutions, Hyperscale Data Tap Crypto Treasuries for AI Buildout
Surging demand for generative AI has made access to GPUs, power and high-density data-center capacity a capital-intensive bottleneck. Tokyo-listed Quantum Solutions and NYSE American-listed Hyperscale Data are now redeploying crypto treasuries originally built for digital-asset exposure into physical AI infrastructure. The shift matters because it turns volatile balance-sheet holdings into funding for assets expected to produce recurring revenue, while offering an alternative to issuing more equity. It also illustrates how the corporate crypto-treasury model is evolving from passive accumulation toward financing data centers and computing equipment.
Quantum Solutions sold 904 ether on June 16 at $1,777.07 each, raising about $1.61 million for data-center deposits, GPU servers and networking equipment; its ETH balance fell to 5,764.80. Hyperscale Data said on July 30 it had monetized about 100 bitcoin and opened a BTC-backed credit facility carrying a variable rate expected at 4.5% to 5.0%. The proceeds will accelerate construction and purchases of long-lead equipment at its Michigan campus, where a 20-megawatt master services agreement could generate more than $1.2 billion over its maximum 20-year term.
