House of Doge, MoonPay Launch DogePay for Payments at 6,000 Merchants Worldwide
House of Doge is seeking to move Dogecoin beyond a speculative asset and into everyday payments. Its partnership with crypto payments provider MoonPay uses the company's merchant checkout infrastructure to lower the technical barriers to accepting Dogecoin and expand the cryptocurrency's utility in physical and online retail.
The companies have launched ÐOGE Pay, a dedicated Dogecoin payment platform that charges a 1% fee per transaction. It will allow more than 6,000 MoonPay Commerce merchants worldwide to accept Dogecoin and instantly convert proceeds into fiat currency or stablecoins. Reports have not disclosed a formal launch date, the value of the partnership or the initial merchant lineup.
