Standard Chartered Launches Insurance Policy Financing in Taiwan
Standard Chartered has formally introduced insurance policy financing to meet the liquidity needs of high-net-worth clients in Taiwan, allowing them to raise funds against the value of their policies and giving them greater flexibility in asset allocation. The move also makes Standard Chartered the only foreign bank in Taiwan offering a full suite of financing services, filling a gap in its wealth-management portfolio.
Standard Chartered recently announced the Taiwan launch of its insurance policy financing service and partnered with U.S. private equity firm Carlyle Group to introduce private equity funds, broadening investment options for high-net-worth clients. The bank has yet to disclose the service’s formal launch date, minimum financing amount, interest rates or the fundraising target for the private equity funds.
