Defacto Taps Mambu Payments for SEPA Connectivity
French B2B fintech Defacto provides short-term credit and embedded lending to small and medium-sized businesses, having financed more than 25,000 SMEs with over €1.5 billion to date. Its adoption of payments technology from Dutch banking software provider Mambu is intended to strengthen the funding lifecycle for receivables finance while allowing Defacto to retain its existing relationships with tier-one banks and expand its European capabilities.
Defacto said on Aug. 13, 2026, that it had layered the Mambu Payments REST API onto its existing infrastructure, connecting the lender to SEPA and automating loan disbursements and repayments for institutional banking partnerships. Mambu Payments was introduced at Defacto in July 2025, followed by a beta launch in November and full production in January 2026. Defacto joins Mambu Payments customers including Western Union, Flowe and Alma.
