Kaiko Flags Possible Front-Running Ahead of Robinhood Crypto Listings
Robinhood is a major U.S. online brokerage whose cryptocurrency listing announcements often boost a token’s liquidity and price. Anyone who learned the timing in advance and built a position could raise concerns about market fairness and information asymmetry. Data analytics firm Kaiko therefore examined perpetual-futures open interest, funding rates and onchain wallet activity, cautioning that the unusual patterns were suspicious but insufficient to prove insider trading.
On May 4, 2026, Kaiko said wallet 0xa1E opened a long LIT position on Hyperliquid at 11:05 UTC on January 15, before Robinhood’s announcement at 12:12, and closed it at 13:00. The position size and profit were not disclosed. Kaiko also said ZEC, SNX and NEAR showed unusual movements in open interest, funding rates or prices before their listings.
