Copper US Arm Wins SEC Registration, FINRA Membership
Copper provides custody and collateral-management infrastructure to institutional digital-asset investors. In the United States, broker-dealers serving the public generally register with the Securities and Exchange Commission and join the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. The approvals matter because they give Copper a regulated foothold in the world’s largest capital market while offering institutions a familiar compliance framework for crypto and tokenized securities. They also advance the convergence of digital-asset markets with traditional brokerage, custody and financing services.
On Aug. 13, 2026, Copper said subsidiary Copper Markets (US) Inc. became a FINRA member and an SEC-registered broker-dealer. The unit plans to offer US institutions qualified custody, staking, financing and over-the-counter trading. Clients will also be able to stake and transfer cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets through Copper’s ClearLoop network, linking custody, collateral and settlement workflows. Copper disclosed no fundraising, acquisition price or other transaction value with the announcement; the milestone was the completion of the two regulatory approvals.
