Stripe Adds CareCredit to Expand Online Healthcare Financing
Rising out-of-pocket healthcare costs have increased demand for financing at US medical, dental and wellness providers. CareCredit, a health and wellness credit card offered by Synchrony, gives consumers a revolving line of credit for eligible expenses while allowing providers to receive payment upfront. Synchrony’s health and wellness network exceeded 290,000 provider, health-focused retail and traditional retail locations at the end of 2025, making digital checkout access an important channel for further growth.
Stripe and Synchrony said on Aug. 7, 2026, that CareCredit would be embedded directly into Stripe’s online checkout experience. Eligible US healthcare and wellness businesses can offer both conventional card payments and CareCredit without building a separate technical integration. Customers making qualifying purchases of at least $200 may receive six-month promotional financing, subject to credit approval and applicable terms. The rollout brings patient financing into the same payment flow businesses already use for online transactions.
