MoneyGram and eToro to Operate Nodes on Midnight Privacy Blockchain
Midnight is a privacy blockchain backed by Charles Hoskinson's $200 million investment that uses zero-knowledge proofs to balance transaction confidentiality, verifiability and regulatory compliance. MoneyGram, Vodafone's Pairpoint and eToro are operating nodes, showing that payment, telecommunications and investment platforms are moving beyond offering crypto services to participate directly in on-chain infrastructure.
On February 24, 2026, the Midnight Foundation announced that MoneyGram, Pairpoint by Vodafone and eToro would each operate one of the first 10 federated nodes, bringing the number of publicly announced operators to seven, including Google Cloud. The mainnet formally went live when its genesis block was produced at 3:17 a.m. UTC on March 17, and block production is expected to transition to the community later in the year.
