Bitget Fully Opens TradFi Trading as Middle East Tensions Fuel Sharp Oil and Gas Price Swings

2 reports · First detected 2026-03-19 · Last active 2026-03-22

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has fully opened its TradFi trading service, expanding into traditional financial assets including crude oil and natural gas. Energy prices are closely tied to inflation, transportation and the global economy, while escalating conflict in the Middle East has made geopolitical risk a major trading theme for capital across markets.

As of July 19, 2026, a Bitget report said the war involving Iran and the potential closure of the Strait of Hormuz were driving up risk premiums in international energy markets. Crude oil’s recent gains reached as much as 80% at one point, while liquefied natural gas prices also rose sharply. Markets continue to assess how long supply disruptions could last and whether the conflict will escalate further.
