Taiwan FSC Announces Third Sustainable Finance Evaluation Results as Yuanta, CTBC, E.Sun and Others Retain Top-25% Rankings
Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission launched its Sustainable Finance Evaluation in 2022, using comprehensive sustainability indicators and the three pillars of environmental, social and corporate governance to assess the financial industry’s ESG risk controls and transition-finance initiatives. The third evaluation also covered securities investment trust enterprises with NT$300 billion to less than NT$600 billion in assets under management, aiming to channel financial capital toward companies transitioning to the 2050 net-zero target.
The FSC announced the results on February 26, 2026, with 23 of the 89 evaluated institutions placing in the top 25% of their respective sectors. Yuanta Commercial Bank, CTBC Bank, E.Sun Bank, First Commercial Bank, Cathay United Bank and Chang Hwa Commercial Bank achieved the distinction for a third consecutive year. An awards ceremony was held on April 2, and all five Cathay Financial Holdings subsidiaries, including Cathay Life Insurance, received awards.
