Anthropic Launches Claude Managed Agents Service, Unveils Pricing
Enterprises seeking to run AI agents in the cloud for extended periods previously had to build their own agent loops, sandboxes, tool orchestration, state persistence and error recovery. Moving from prototype to production often took months. Anthropic is decoupling these runtime components from Claude models and managing them as a service, allowing teams to focus on business logic while expanding the company’s reach into the AI agent infrastructure market.
Anthropic launched the public beta of Claude Managed Agents on the Claude Platform on April 8, 2026, saying it could cut deployment times from months to days. The service charges $0.08 per hour for active sessions, metered to the millisecond, with no fees while idle. Standard Claude model token charges apply separately, bringing the base monthly cost of running one agent around the clock to about $58.
