MANTRA Token Hits Record Low as Blockchain Halts

5 reports · First detected 2026-08-21 · Last active 2026-08-21

MANTRA Chain is a Layer-1 blockchain focused on bringing real-world assets onchain, combining a Cosmos-based network with Ethereum Virtual Machine compatibility. A full halt is significant because it suspends transaction settlement, bridge activity and validator operations across the ecosystem, testing the reliability of infrastructure designed for regulated financial assets. The disruption came only three days after MANTRA rolled out its MANTRA Zone interface upgrade on Aug. 18, 2026.

MANTRA Chain halted block production as a precaution on Aug. 21 after an unspecified incident, freezing public endpoints, transactions and bridge operations while exchanges suspended deposits and withdrawals. The project had not confirmed whether an exploit caused the outage. CoinGecko data showed the MANTRA token falling 18.5% from $0.005060 to a record low of $0.004126 around 11 p.m. UTC on Aug. 20, before recovering to about $0.0044. Trading volume surged nearly 600% to $24 million.
