L3Harris Pitches AI-Powered Wolf Pack Drone Swarm to Extend U.S. Army Strike Range

L3Harris unveiled its modular family of air-launched effects, known as Wolf Pack, on July 17, 2025. Red Wolf is designed for long-range precision strikes, while Green Wolf conducts electronic attacks and detection and geolocation missions. The systems can be launched from air, ground or maritime platforms and cost about $300,000–$400,000 each, below the more than $1 million price tag of conventional standoff cruise missiles. They could expand the U.S. military's access to lower-cost, long-range firepower.

A report on April 17, 2026, said L3Harris was pitching the U.S. Army on integrating the systems with Apache and Black Hawk helicopters, extending their engagement range from several kilometers or just over 10 kilometers to hundreds of kilometers. Green Wolf first maps the electromagnetic battlespace at subsonic speed, after which Red Wolf strikes land and maritime targets. DISCO AI software can coordinate swarms and retarget them in flight with pilot authorization. Procurement value and quantities have not been disclosed.
