Scalable Capital Opens Brokerage Platform to AI Assistants

2 reports · First detected 2026-08-26 · Last active 2026-09-01

Founded in Munich in 2014, Scalable Capital has grown from an online broker and digital wealth manager into a fully licensed bank serving more than 1 million clients with over €60 billion on its platform. Opening brokerage accounts to general-purpose AI assistants pushes generative AI beyond research and portfolio analysis into transaction workflows, potentially shifting the main interface for retail investing away from a bank’s own app while raising questions over authorization, accountability and security.

Scalable Capital launched Agentic Investing on Aug. 25, 2026, claiming a European first by connecting its platform with ChatGPT, Claude and Grok through interfaces including Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol. Clients can use natural-language prompts to search stocks, ETFs and derivatives, prepare trades and savings plans, manage watchlists and set price alerts. Orders are not fully autonomous: users must approve trades before execution, with two-factor authentication required upfront and periodically. Deposits and withdrawals remain restricted to Scalable Capital’s website and app.
