AZ-COM Maruwa Plans JPYC Payments for 2,300 Logistics Partners
AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings, a major Japanese logistics group and supplier to Amazon Japan, plans to bring JPYC into its payment operations. The yen-backed stablecoin is designed to track the currency one-for-one and enable transfers without conventional bank fees. The move would take a Japanese stablecoin beyond crypto trading and into routine corporate settlements, potentially reshaping how logistics companies compensate subcontractors and drivers.
As of July 20, 2026, AZ-COM Maruwa was preparing to pay about 2,300 partner companies and drivers in JPYC, aiming to distribute compensation faster and more frequently by eliminating transfer fees. The group is also considering an investment of more than ¥1 billion in JPYC. If implemented, the program would be among Japan’s earliest large-scale corporate uses of a retail yen stablecoin for commercial payments.
