UK’s NCSC Warns AI Will Accelerate Exploitation of Technical Debt, Urges Patch Preparedness

The UK’s National Cyber Security Centre said companies’ accumulated software technical debt — including outdated components, unpatched vulnerabilities and rigid update processes — is becoming a cybersecurity risk. Generative AI can lower the barriers to vulnerability discovery and attack automation, allowing hackers to target large numbers of systems more quickly.
