Credifi Ties $3,000 Unsecured USDC Loans to Ethos Scores

1 reports · First detected 2026-09-01 · Last active 2026-09-01

Credifi is using Ethos on-chain reputation scores to support unsecured crypto lending, allowing eligible borrowers to obtain credit without posting digital assets as collateral. The model seeks to replace overcollateralization with a portable record of trust and repayment behavior. That makes the reported 3,000-USDC offer a loan carrying financial and reputational obligations, rather than a free token airdrop or promotional giveaway.

Recent social-media posts claimed Ethos users could take 3,000 USDC from Credifi without collateral and simply avoid repayment. The lending facility is real, but borrowers must have an Ethos reputation score of at least 1,800 and pay a 10% annual interest rate. They must also grant permissions involving an Euler account, creating additional smart-contract and authorization risks. A missed repayment could severely damage the borrower’s on-chain identity and future access to reputation-based credit.
