Alchemy Launches AgentPay to Enable Interoperable AI Agent Payments

1 reports · First detected 2026-04-09 · Last active 2026-04-09

AI agents are evolving from assistants into autonomous buyers of APIs, computing resources and services. Providers including OpenAI and Anthropic use different payment protocols, forcing merchants to integrate each one separately. Alchemy positions AgentPay as a protocol translation layer. Morgan Stanley estimates agentic commerce could reach $385 billion by 2030, making interoperability critical to expanding the market.

Alchemy unveiled AgentPay on April 8, 2026, and announced open testing on April 28. By registering a single endpoint, merchants can accept AI agent payments using protocols including x402, ACP, MPP and A2P, funded with fiat currency or stablecoins. The system automatically detects and translates protocols but neither holds funds nor handles settlement. Alchemy has not disclosed pricing, transaction volume or user numbers.
