AFA Launches Inaugural Awards to Spur Cross-Border Fintech Growth
The Asia FinTech Alliance, or AFA, has launched its inaugural awards program with support from fintech associations across 16 economies, including Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore. The AFA Awards are designed to identify companies with proven cross-border operations and the ability to scale, using the alliance’s regional trust network to lower market-entry barriers and strengthen links across Asia’s fragmented financial technology ecosystem.
Nominations for the first AFA Awards are now open, with each of the 16 participating economies allowed to put forward seven fintech companies. Taiwan will nominate seven contenders with demonstrated cross-border achievements. Winners are scheduled to be announced at an awards ceremony in Taipei on Sept. 1, giving selected companies a platform to pursue regional expansion and develop partnerships across Asian markets.
