BitGo Launches Modular Digital Asset Infrastructure Platform for Banks
Founded in 2013, California-based BitGo provides digital asset infrastructure, including custody, trading, staking and settlement services, to banks, exchanges and institutional investors. Its new platform packages previously fragmented crypto-finance capabilities into modules, allowing banks to roll out services in stages based on regulatory and operational requirements while retaining control over compliance, governance and customer relationships.
BitGo launched the banking platform on May 19, 2026, integrating custody, trading, settlement, staking, stablecoins and crypto-as-a-service capabilities that banks can offer under their own brands. Erebor Bank, Banco de Crédito del Perú and TowerBank have adopted the platform. BitGo generated $3.8 billion in first-quarter revenue but recorded a net loss of $60.7 million.

The history behind this eventBitGo Launches MiCA-Compliant Crypto-as-a-Service Across European Economic Area
The European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, or MiCA, established a unified cross-border licensing regime. BitGo Europe received approval from Germany's Federal Financial Supervisory Authority, or BaFin, in May 2025, allowing it to serve the European Economic Area. As national transition periods wind down, platforms that have not secured authorization could face operating restrictions, making compliant infrastructure critical to maintaining services.
BitGo announced on March 3, 2026, that it was expanding Crypto-as-a-Service to 30 markets across the European Economic Area. Its APIs integrate custody, trading, wallets, settlement and SEPA fiat deposits and withdrawals, with insurance coverage of up to $250 million. On June 17, the company also targeted operators still awaiting MiCA approval, offering a compliant subaccount solution ahead of the July 1 deadline.
BitGo Launches Portfolio-Based Crypto Lending Platform for Institutions
Digital asset infrastructure provider BitGo has long offered institutional-grade custody and trading services. Following a market-wide credit crisis in crypto lending, institutions have placed greater emphasis on asset segregation and collateral controls. The new platform holds liquid tokens, staked positions and locked assets in a single custody account, allowing institutions to obtain financing without splitting up assets or moving them between platforms.
BitGo has launched a portfolio-based crypto lending platform that integrates lending and collateral management. Institutional clients can obtain financing based on their entire portfolios, reducing manual transfers and coordination with multiple counterparties. Existing reports disclosed no precise launch date, credit limits, interest rates or amounts involving initial customers, confirming only that the service is aimed at institutions.
