AWS Expands S3 Vector Storage Service to Taipei and 16 Other Regions
Amazon Web Services (AWS) offers Amazon S3 Vectors, enabling companies to store and query vector data directly in S3 for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), semantic search and machine-learning model development. The service is designed to lower the cost of vector storage at scale and reduce the management burden of operating a dedicated vector database.
AWS most recently announced that Amazon S3 Vectors was expanding to 17 additional regions across Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Americas, including the Taipei Region. The expansion allows Taiwanese companies to deploy vector workloads in a local AWS region and shorten data-transfer distances. Customers pay according to AWS’s published regional pricing, with no upfront infrastructure investment required.
