1 reports · First detected 2026-07-24 · Last active 2026-07-24

WEX, traditionally associated with fleet and travel payments, is broadening its growth strategy around accounts payable and embedded finance. The company supplies issuing, settlement, compliance and virtual-card infrastructure to FinTech and software platforms, allowing payments to sit inside procurement, reconciliation and supplier-management workflows. The shift gives WEX distribution channels beyond travel and positions it to benefit as businesses outsource more payment operations.

WEX said on July 22, 2026, that revenue for the quarter ended June 30 rose 14.2% to $753.5 million, aided by $63.8 million from fuel prices and $2.1 million from foreign exchange. Corporate Payments revenue increased 5.8% to $125.1 million, while direct AP volume climbed 20%, with about two-thirds of the growth generated by new business. Adjusted earnings per share advanced 35.4% to $5.35.
