Spotify Launches Personal Podcasts Beta With Anthropic Claude Code and AI Agent Capabilities

3 reports · First detected 2026-05-08 · Last active 2026-05-22

Spotify is expanding its streaming platform beyond a public content catalog into a personalized AI-audio gateway. Personal Podcasts lets users turn daily briefings, class notes or research materials into programs available only to them and save the audio directly to their Library. Keeping this material private distinguishes it from conventional podcasts and reduces the risk that large volumes of AI-generated content will dilute the creator ecosystem.

On May 7, 2026, Spotify launched an open-source CLI beta supporting Anthropic Claude Code, OpenAI Codex and OpenClaw, allowing users to generate audio through natural-language instructions and save it to their Library. On May 21, it also announced Studio, a research preview that will be made available over the following weeks to select users aged 18 and older in more than 20 markets. Spotify did not disclose pricing or the amount invested.
