TABEI Hackathon Targets Trust and Authorization for AI Agents
As AI agents increasingly act on users’ behalf — accessing data, signing instructions or initiating transactions — questions over identity, authorization and accountability are becoming a barrier to adoption. The Taiwan blockchain association TABEI is organizing a Trusted AI Hackathon to address that gap, bringing together blockchain, decentralized identity (DID) and zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) technologies to explore how autonomous agents can prove who they represent and what actions they are permitted to take.
The hackathon is scheduled for late August, with registration open through Aug. 5 and a total prize pool exceeding $12,000. For the first time, TABEI will accept individual applicants, while entrants will not need to submit a prototype during the initial screening. Organizers aim to connect participants with needs from multiple industries and turn proposed authorization-governance solutions into proof-of-concept projects, lowering the entry barrier while testing whether trusted AI-agent systems can work in practical settings.
