Norway Wealth Fund’s Taiwan AI Holdings Top NT$2 Trillion
Norway’s Government Pension Fund Global, one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds, is closely watched as a gauge of long-term institutional capital flows. Taiwan’s role in its portfolio has expanded as generative AI fuels demand for advanced chips, servers and critical electronic components, strengthening the investment case for the island’s technology supply chain.
The fund’s first-half 2026 financial report showed that the market value of its Taiwan-listed holdings exceeded NT$2 trillion as of the end of June. The increase was concentrated in Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., MediaTek and Yageo, whose portfolio weightings rose sharply, underscoring the fund’s growing exposure to AI chips and server-related suppliers.
