FG Nexus Sells $14 Million in Ether as Treasury Investment Losses Top $80 Million
FG Nexus is a Nasdaq-listed company focused on Ethereum treasury holdings and infrastructure. It invested about $196 million to acquire 50,770 ETH at an average price of $3,860 apiece between August and September 2025. The strategy left the company's assets and share price highly exposed to Ether's fluctuations, highlighting the risks of the crypto-treasury model for listed companies.
Arkham data showed that FG Nexus transferred another 10,000 ETH on June 3, worth about $17.8 million at the time. That followed its sale of 7,550 ETH for about $14 million on February 24, 2026. Ether was trading at around $1,765, roughly 54% below the company's cost basis, bringing combined realized and unrealized losses on the original investment to more than $100 million.
