Polish Crypto Exchange Kanga Secures MiCA License in Latvia
The European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation, or MiCA, establishes a unified regulatory and passporting regime for crypto service providers. Polish exchange Kanga applied for a license in Latvia because Poland’s related legislation remains stalled, forcing companies to seek authorization in other member states to gain legal access to the EU market.
Kanga announced in July 2026 that it had obtained a Class 3 MiCA license from Latvijas Banka, allowing it to legally provide cryptoasset custody and trading services across the EU. As of July 20, Poland had yet to formally implement MiCA, highlighting how differences in enforcement progress among member states are shaping companies’ licensing strategies.
