Walsin Lihwa Sees AI, Taiwan Grid Spending Driving Growth
Walsin Lihwa spans wire and cable, stainless steel and technology investments, positioning it to benefit from two capital-spending cycles: the AI buildout, which is lifting electricity and cabling demand, and Taiwan’s grid overhaul. Taiwan Power Co. launched a 10-year, NT$564.5 billion Grid Resilience Strengthening Construction Plan in September 2022, giving domestic cable suppliers a longer demand runway. Earnings from affiliate Winbond Electronics provide another link to the AI upcycle.
At Walsin Lihwa’s May 22, 2026 annual meeting, Chairman Yu-Lon Chiao said this year should be very good, with momentum likely to continue for two to three years. The company reported 2025 revenue of NT$174.24 billion, net income after tax of NT$3.18 billion and earnings per share of NT$0.75. Its Kaohsiung submarine-cable plant is complete, with certification targeted by end-2026 and full production in 2028, while European operations support its push into nuclear-power and small modular reactor materials.
