Michael Saylor Says Bitcoin Winter Is Over as Experts Eye Sovereign Adoption
Strategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor has long advocated holding bitcoin as a corporate balance-sheet reserve, and Strategy holds more bitcoin than any other publicly traded company. Whether the market has emerged from its “winter” could influence the return of institutional capital and whether companies and sovereign nations treat bitcoin as a long-term reserve asset akin to gold.
Saylor declared on X on April 23, 2026, that “winter is over.” Bitcoin had remained above $78,000 after reclaiming that level on April 22. Strategy had previously added 13,927 bitcoin, bringing its total holdings to 780,897. Quantum Economics founder Mati Greenspan said the decline was merely a bull-market correction that may have bottomed, and that the next wave of momentum would come from sovereign adoption, including central banks adding bitcoin to their reserves.
