AI Agents Drive Identity Verification Demand, Boosting Okta’s Growth Prospects
Founded in 2009, Okta provides identity and access management (IAM) services, with a focus on single sign-on and multi-factor authentication. As generative AI evolves into agentic systems, companies must manage not only employee accounts but also the permissions and behavior of AI agents. This is creating new demand for machine identity security and expanding Okta’s growth opportunities.
A report on April 21 said Barclays had upgraded Okta from Equal Weight to Overweight. Raymond James and William Blair also expect AI agents to drive investment in identity security. Okta shares rose 4.86% on April 20 to close at $75.76, rebounding nearly 20% from their April 10 low.
