Manus Readies 2.0 Launch After Meta Deal Unwinds

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-12 · Last active 2026-08-12

Manus, the developer of an AI agent platform, had been set to combine with Meta before the transaction was halted amid a national security review. The unwinding matters because the 150-person team is behind a product generating $300 million in annual recurring revenue, or ARR. Its return to independent operations will also test how AI startups navigate regulatory scrutiny of transactions involving major technology groups.

Manus said development of its 2.0 release is complete and the product will be launched once its separation from Meta and the termination paperwork are finalized. As of Aug. 12, 2026, the team had not disclosed a firm release date. None of its 150 employees left during the transaction and subsequent unwind, Manus said, and the group will resume independent operations with a product carrying $300 million in ARR.
