Taiwan Bolsters Cyber Defenses After Overseas Hackers Deploy AI Agents

Taiwan’s Administration for Cyber Security under the Ministry of Digital Affairs said overseas hackers recently used AI-agent tools to probe and attack multiple government systems. Some local reports described the activity as possibly linked to Chinese hackers, though the ministry identified the source only as overseas. The agency said it completed an investigation into the origin and scope, strengthened monitoring and expanded interagency intelligence sharing. Reports did not specify the attack dates, number of affected agencies or financial losses.
