Tether Leads $3 Million Seed Round in Colombia’s Plenti
Founded in Medellín in 2022, Plenti operates a multicurrency and retail investment platform that lets customers hold and transfer dollars, euros and Colombian pesos, earn yield and invest in U.S. stocks, exchange-traded funds, digital gold and crypto assets. Tether’s backing underscores growing investor interest in digital-dollar services across Latin America, where volatile local currencies have fueled demand for alternative stores of value and cross-border payment tools.
Plenti announced on Sept. 2, 2026, that it had raised $3 million in a seed round led by USDT issuer Tether, with participation from Verda Ventures. The company plans to strengthen its Colombian operations and finance expansion into Peru and Bolivia. Plenti said it serves more than 150,000 active users and processes over $3.1 billion in annual transaction volume across its business-to-business and consumer divisions.
