AI Actor Tilly Norwood Lands First Feature Lead in ‘Misaligned’
Tilly Norwood is a synthetic performer created in 2025 by Xicoia, the AI arm of London-based Particle6. Her emergence at the Zurich Film Festival in September 2025 drew criticism over jobs, likeness rights and the use of performers’ work to train generative models. SAG-AFTRA said on Sept. 30 that Norwood was a computer-generated character, not an actor, making her a focal point in Hollywood’s debate over consent, compensation and AI limits.
Particle6 said on July 6, 2026, that it had begun developing “Misaligned,” a coming-of-age comedy-drama and Norwood’s first feature-length lead role. Set in the cloud-based “Tillyverse,” the film follows an AI being pushed by a rogue bot to abandon her guardrails. The company describes the project as an AI feature but plans a hybrid production involving human writers, directors and editors alongside AI specialists. No production budget, distributor, release platform or premiere date has been disclosed.
