OpenAI Launches $100 ChatGPT Pro Plan With Sharply Higher Codex Limits

OpenAI’s Codex is a software-development agent integrated into ChatGPT that can help write, test and debug code. As developers use it for longer and more complex workflows, the usage limits under the existing Plus plan have increasingly proved insufficient. The addition of a mid-tier subscription underscores Codex’s role as an important product in OpenAI’s push to expand paid revenue.

OpenAI has launched a $100-a-month ChatGPT Pro plan aimed at users running intensive software-development tasks, with pricing between its existing subscription tiers. The new plan’s standard Codex allowance is 5 times that of Plus. A limited-time offer running through May 31 raises the allowance to 10 times the Plus level during the promotional period.
