Crypto Ranks Last Among U.S. Voter Priorities, CoinDesk Survey Finds
The cryptocurrency industry has become increasingly involved in U.S. elections and regulatory debates in recent years, spending hundreds of millions of dollars to support crypto-friendly candidates. Coinbase has also mobilized voters through Stand With Crypto. The industry’s chief legislative priority is the Clarity Act, which would define the digital-asset market structure and delineate regulators’ responsibilities.
CoinDesk published a survey on May 3, 2026, conducted by Public Opinion Strategies in late April among a random sample of 1,000 registered U.S. voters. Just 1% named cryptocurrency as their top issue, placing it last among voter priorities. About 40%, however, said they would be more likely to support candidates who shared their views on crypto. The Clarity Act still awaits further action in Congress.
