Visa and TikTok Launch Creator Card for UK Content Creators
TikTok LIVE creators earn money from virtual gifts sent by viewers, which they can convert into income. However, payments often arrive irregularly, while personal and business expenses are frequently mixed. Visa estimates there are about 200 million creators worldwide and that the creator economy could reach $500 billion by 2027, making cash-flow management an important challenge for digital entrepreneurs.
Visa and TikTok launched the first Creator Card for TikTok LIVE creators in the UK on April 21, 2026. Creators aged 18 or older can apply through the TikTok app at no charge and use the card through digital wallets. A Visa survey of 1,000 professional UK creators found that 86% financed their operations with their own money, 49% had experienced late payments and 94% wanted to manage their personal and business finances separately.
