Core Scientific Secures Up to $1 Billion From Morgan Stanley for Data Center Expansion
Core Scientific (Nasdaq: CORZ), once primarily a Bitcoin miner, has shifted in recent years toward high-density colocation and data centers for AI computing. Demand for AI infrastructure has driven up upfront capital spending on power, land and equipment, making access to substantial construction financing critical to the pace of its capacity expansion and business transformation.
Core Scientific said on March 5, 2026, that it had signed a 364-day loan facility of up to $1 billion with Morgan Stanley Senior Funding. It completed an initial $500 million financing on March 4 and may borrow an additional $500 million. The proceeds will fund data center expenditures, including equipment purchases, early-stage development, real estate and additional power capacity.
