Pudgy Penguins Launches Pudgy World Browser Game as PENGU Jumps 9%

Pudgy Penguins began as an Ethereum-based penguin avatar NFT project. In May 2023, it raised $9 million in a seed round led by 1kx to expand into toys and entertainment intellectual property, before unveiling Pudgy World at Art Basel later that year. The game is seen as an important test of the brand's ability to move beyond crypto-native communities and attract mainstream players.

On March 9, 2026, Pudgy Penguins opened Pudgy World, a free browser game, to the public. It features The Berg's 12 towns, story-driven quests and mini-games. PENGU briefly gained about 9% that day. The Pudgy Penguins NFT collection's floor price was flat in ETH terms, but recovered in dollar terms as ETH rose 5%.
