1 reports · First detected 2026-08-11 · Last active 2026-08-11

Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission issued its Trust Business Development Strategy Blueprint on Dec. 31, 2024, extending the Trust 2.0 initiative as an aging population and changing family structures increase demand for retirement care and wealth transfers. Banks are moving beyond conventional asset custody into digital disbursements, cross-industry care networks and customized succession planning. First Commercial Bank managed NT$41.955 billion ($1.4 billion) in elderly-care trust assets at the end of 2025.

At an FSC-organized forum at the Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance on Aug. 10, 2026, Taiwan Cooperative Bank, Bank of Taiwan, First Commercial Bank and Bank SinoPac presented services spanning pet care, digital trust payments and estate planning. SinoPac Securities’ stock gift card experiment capped redemptions at NT$250,000 per person annually, while Bank of Taiwan’s “友pay人生安養信託” digital vouchers allow approved care expenses to be paid from trust assets without requiring customers to advance the money.
